TYBRIN provides Engineering and Technical Services (ETS) for Flight Research and Development at the NASA Dryden Flight Research Center (DFRC). This includes support for flight research projects, internal research and development, and various technical support functions.<br>

This position will serve as an Instrumentation Engineer on various projects at the NASA DFRC, primarily on the SOFIA program. Candidate will generate requirements and perform requirements decomposition to fully design, test and support flight instrumentation systems on current and future research projects. Support the use of the Veridian/TTC data processing systems in the checkout of instrumentation and ground test efforts. Coordinate with the mission control room personnel in the development and design of the displays, development of the data cycle maps, calibration files and run files. Review project instructions to ascertain requirements, specifications, procedures, objectives, equipment, nature of technical problem, and possible solutions; Document and elicit user requirements, perform requirements decomposition and allocation to fully document operational and functional needs for systems in specific technical areas; Set up and conduct tests or studies of complete systems, components, or concepts under research test conditions to investigate proposals for improving performance or other factors, or to obtain data for development, standardization, and quality control. Record test or report procedures and results, numerical and graphical data, and make recommendations for changes; Create reports and other documentation necessary to describe the results of studies and/or tests. Document and elicit user requirements, perform requirements decomposition and allocation to fully document operational and functional needs for systems in specific technical areas. .<br>

<b><i>Education Desired/Required:</b></i><ul>
<li>High School Diploma with 8 years technical experience specifically related to field; or 
<li>Associates degree in Engineering or Physical Science with 8 years of relevant experience; or 
<li>Bachelors Degree in non-engineering discipline with 8 years, at least 2 performing para-engineering duties; or 
<li>Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Physical Science with 3 years experience; or 
<li>Advanced Degree ( Masters or PhD) in Engineering or Physical Science. </ul>
<b><i>Experience Required:</b></i><ul>
<li>Use identified requirements to fully design, test and support flight instrumentation systems on current and future research projects. 
<li>Support the use of the Veridian data processing systems in the checkout of instrumentation and ground test efforts. <li>Coordinate with the mission control room personnel in the development and design of the displays, development of the data cycle maps, calibration files and run files.
