JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources, performs HR generalist duties, with focused expertise and responsibility for Compensation and Benefits. <br>

DESCRIPTION: <br>
1. Administers various human resources plans and procedures for all hospital personnel; assists in development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains employee handbook and policies and procedures manual. <br>
2. Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems. <br>
3. Acts as an advocate for the hospital and ensures employees and managers are able to express concerns in a manner that is respectful of all individuals and supportive of the hospital’s values and objectives. <br>
4. Administers compensation program; monitors performance evaluation program and revises as necessary. <br>
5. Administers company benefit programs to include but not limited to: claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, and communicating benefit information to employees. Acts as liaison with various insurance carriers and fosters effective relationships with client representatives. <br>
6. Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 report annually; maintains other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations. <br>
7. Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, students, and temporary employees; monitors career path programs, writes and places advertisements. <br>
8. Handles employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling, and exit interviewing. <br>
9. Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars. Maintains company organization charts and employee directory. <br>
10. Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed. <br>
11. Maintains Human Resource Information System records and compiles reports from database. <br>
12. Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment. <br>
13. Conduct New Employee Orientation (NEO) along with developing and facilitating training programs for the hospital. <br>
14. Attends external HR networking opportunities routinely to stay abreast of Federal and State regulations. <br>
15. Participate on internal committees, as needed, to support the hospital’s strategic objectives. <br>
16. Performs other related duties as required and assigned. <br>

REQUIREMENTS: <br>

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management. <br>

• 2 to 5 years experience working in a Human Resources Generalist function with focus in compensation and benefits, preferably in a healthcare industry <br>

• PHR preferred. <br>

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in dealing with public, co-workers and management. <br>

Recent experience transitioning to a self-insured program highly preferred. An in-depth understanding of pooling, developing premium equivalents, understanding of aggregate and individual stop-loss arrangements, and experience with third party administrators (TPAs), developing RFPs and negotiating contracts. May even have designed a risk/reward agreement(s) with a TPA<br>
<br>
Academic / Research / Health care Industry experience: Previous health care industry experience is desirable. Experience in a research based organization is preferred.<br>
<br>
Certification(s) & Software: PHR/SPHR/CEBS/CCP certification is preferred. Sound working knowledge of computer software (Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, Explorer) & computer database management skills (HRIS/HRMS). Previous Oracle experience is preferred.<br>

Establish the HR function's budget & financial expense management processes. Oversee the integration/interfacing of the Workforce Contingency model to include internships, volunteers and our community members. Work in partnership with Leadership to craft a “core competency library” & legally defensible selection criteria. Propose & execute a positive work flow in concert with Payroll & Finance Leadership. Establish an internal investigation process and document work flow. Craft a performance evaluation system with unique variables for desired employee groups. Create an Employee Engagement Survey and oversee the follow-up action planning committee. Perform an analysis of the learning/training requirements for leadership and develop a curriculum: sexual harassment & other harassment, workers' compensation/ risk management/disability, goal setting & performance evaluations, market based compensation & hiring/internal equity, “managing my workforce”, individual development/becoming a career coach, Consider the HR Shared Services model as the foundation for transformational change.<br>
