For three months 200-300 contestants will be competing in a “Biggest Loser” type of competition. The top five winners will win prizes from workout equipment to $25,000. In addition, the biggest loser each month will win either 10 hours limousine service through Ely’s Limos, a Toshiba Flat Screen LCD TV, or home workout equipment.
I would like to enter this competition. I am too young to let my life go like I have. I am the oldest of 11 grandkids and I would like to be an inspiration to my cousins and sisters.
I feel like my weight is a key factor in my continual self-doubt. I feel like my weight has held me back from happiness in my life. Losing this weight could be the breakthrough I am looking for. I know that my weight is my own doing – not eating right and not exercising regularly. I understand this. I have been taking steps to lose weight – I have lost 15 pounds in the past two months. I am tired of feeling uncomfortable in my own skin.
Also, in October 2010, my little sister is getting married. I don’t want to look back in 5 to 20 years and see myself unhappy and overweight.
My plan for losing the weight during the competition is as follows:
I will go to the gym Monday from 9AM to 12PM. (3 hours)
On Tuesday I will go to the gym from 8AM to 9AM and then from 2PM to 5PM. (4 hours)
On Wednesday, Friday and Saturday I will go to the gym from 9AM to 3PM. (6 hours)
On Thursday I will go to the gym from 8AM to 9AM. (1 hour)
This is a total of 26 hours per week and 312 hours during the competition. These hours are just gym hours, not home hours.
I am asking for sponsors. Because I am a full-time student, I do not have a job and can’t pay for the fees and clothes myself. I have figured I need $300 to enter this contest: $100 for the entry fee and $200 for exercise clothes and weights for home.
I am willing to put your company logo on the back of all my workout t-shirts and wear them to every work out and exercise class. Since I will be working out before and after class at Bakersfield College, I will be wearing the shirts to school and class.
This is an EXCELLENT deal for your company. To advertise locally, it would cost you the following:
One commercial per night on a local station: $50 per ad x 7 nights = $350
12 weeks (the length of the competition) x $350 = $4,200
One print ad (the cheapest available) in The Bakersfield Californian: $100 per week
12 weeks x $100 = $1,200
A 2” column in Bakersfield College’s Renegade Rip: $12
12 weeks x $12 = $144
To advertise in these three mediums it would cost a total of $5,544 during the twelve week competition. I am asking for only $300. That’s a savings of $5,244 for twelve weeks of advertising! I am also willing to break the cost up among several donors. I would like to enter the competition by December 21st, so I would love to talk to you before then.
This is an opportunity for me to change my life and for your company to gain precious positive exposure. Please help me be the BAKERSFIELD LOSER!
