Senior Accountant in Delano, CA (Delano, CA)

Monday–Thursday | 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM
Temporary 6-Month Assignment
This role offers a 4-day workweek schedule and the opportunity to work on impactful city finance projects.
Responsibilities
Prepare and review financial reports, journal entries, and account reconciliations
Maintain and analyze general ledger accounts and accounting records
Assist with budget preparation, projections, and expenditure tracking
Perform bank reconciliations and monitor financial transactions
Prepare reports for regulatory agencies and internal departments
Support grant accounting, audits, and year-end financial reporting
Review accounting procedures and recommend process improvements
Supervise and support accounting and clerical staff as assigned
Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting standards
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field required
3–5 years of professional accounting experience required
Governmental or public agency accounting experience strongly preferred
Previous supervisory or lead experience preferred
Strong knowledge of GAAP, budgeting, and financial reporting
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
California Driver’s License with acceptable driving record required
Pay, Schedule, and Assignment Details
$38.36/hour
Monday–Thursday schedule
7:30 AM – 6:00 PM with 30-minute lunch
Temporary 6-month project
On-site position in Delano, CA
