Procurement Buyer (Bakersfield)

Bakersfield, CA | Full-Time | Temporary Assignment
Pay: Starting at $25.00 per hour DOE
The ideal candidate will have purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or inventory management experience and be comfortable working with ERP systems, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
• Create, process, and maintain purchase orders within the ERP system
• Review purchase requests for accuracy, approvals, and compliance requirements
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment activities
• Communicate with suppliers regarding pricing, lead times, deliveries, and service performance
• Maintain supplier records, pricing data, and procurement documentation
• Support sourcing activities and supplier evaluations
• Coordinate material deliveries with suppliers, warehouses, and internal departments
• Track open purchase orders and resolve receiving or invoice discrepancies
• Assist with new product launches and material readiness planning
• Support supplier performance reviews and purchasing metrics
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and audit requirements
Qualifications:
• 3-5 years of purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or related experience preferred
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong communication and relationship-building abilities
• Experience with inventory control and supplier management
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems
• SAP experience preferred
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Background:
• Manufacturing experience
• Food and beverage industry experience
• Consumer packaged goods (CPG) experience
• Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives
Education:
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Equivalent education and experience will be considered
Work Environment:
• Combination of office and manufacturing environments
• Occasional exposure to production areas and manufacturing operations
• May occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
