Peanut is a mixed-breed dairy cow (mostly jersey according to our vet, but with some fun markings) that just gave birth one week ago. She is four years old and this is her second calf. She is a very easy keeper--keeps on weight well and is not nervous. She does well being milked with a machine, and has a very big udder for such a small cow! She is 44" and so would be considered a "mid-sized miniature"--one would not want a smaller dairy cow or else one would have to milk by sitting on the floor. She would be great, though, for a family farm in which one had limited space. Peanut calves easily and is a good mother. Our vet loves her and will be sorry to see her leave our farm, but we already have quite a bit of milk from our other cows, and so just do not need another 4 gallons per day! We were just waiting for her to calve, but are now ready to place her. Please feel free to ask any questions that you might have. We are happy to have you visit her before making any commitment. God bless you!
