Our established and growing medico-legal group is seeking a dependable Live Support Assistant to travel to office locations and assist physicians during medical-legal evaluations throughout California.
This position supports physicians who serve as Qualified Medical Evaluators (QMEs) in the workers’ compensation system. QMEs perform evaluations for applicants with work-related injuries or other medical-legal issues. The Live Support Assistant works on-site alongside the physician to help ensure the day runs smoothly, professionally, and efficiently.
This is a part-time W-2 position. The schedule is based on physician appointment days and business needs, so hours may vary from week to week depending on the volume of scheduled evaluations in your area. Candidates should be comfortable with a flexible schedule and local travel to appointment locations as assigned.
Experience in a medical office, healthcare setting, or workers’ compensation environment is helpful, but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate who is professional, organized, dependable, and able to take initiative.
The ideal candidate is someone who can confidently help “run the office” during evaluation days by managing the flow of appointments, communicating effectively with all parties, and addressing issues as they arise. Strong communication skills, professionalism, and reliability are essential in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Arrive on time and be prepared to report to the office 15 minutes before the first scheduled evaluation
Greet and assist applicants in a professional and courteous manner
Facilitate communication between the applicant, physician, translators, office staff, and the main Expedient office as needed by email, phone, and text
Administer required intake or appointment documents and ensure completed paperwork is scanned and returned to the main office no later than the next business day
Help manage appointment flow and assist with day-of logistics
Troubleshoot issues that may arise during the day, including scheduling changes, interpreter needs, delayed arrivals, or other administrative concerns
Maintain confidentiality at all times and follow all HIPAA and company privacy requirements
Qualifications:
Professional, dependable, and punctual
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Comfortable working independently and taking initiative
Organized and detail-oriented
Able to adapt to changing schedules and day-of issues
Comfortable traveling to assigned office locations
Prior medical office, healthcare, administrative, or workers’ compensation experience is a plus, but not required
Important Scheduling Information:
This is a part-time position with variable hours. Some weeks may have more assignments than others, depending on scheduling needs, physician calendars, and regional demand. This role is best suited for someone who values flexibility and understands that hours are not guaranteed at a fixed weekly amount.
